A treasure hunter found a stash of Saxon jewelry in a West Yorkshire field. West Yorkshire archeologists have given a preliminary dating of 9th-11th century
to the three gold rings, half a gold ingot and a brooch fragment. The items, which were found on a farm near Leeds, will now be turned over to the British Museum for further analysis.
